SEEDLINGS: Puppet Making Workshop
Join us for the next SEEDLINGS family art workshop at Haarlem Artspace, where we’ll be exploring the magical world of puppets!
Inspired by our current exhibition by Matlock-born artist Jacky Cheetham, young artists will create their own unique stick puppets using card, collage, drawing materials and mixed media. Whether they invent an imaginary creature, a curious character, or a favourite animal, children will have the chance to bring their ideas to life through playful making and storytelling.
Saturday 13 June
10:00am–11:30am
£12 per child (plus booking fee)
All materials are provided. If your child has a SEEDLINGS sketchbook from a previous session, we’d love them to bring it along—especially if they have new drawings or ideas to share. Children are also welcome to bring found objects, buttons, beads or other small materials to personalise and embellish their puppets.
Led by experienced art educator Katy, SEEDLINGS encourages curiosity, confidence, self-expression and creative exploration. There is no pressure to produce a perfect finished artwork—our focus is on enjoying the process, experimenting with materials and discovering new ideas together.
Parents and carers are asked to stay throughout the session and support their child where needed, while encouraging independent exploration and a little creative mess along the way.
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for art-making. Aprons and protective bibs will be available.
Spaces are limited to 22 children, so advance booking is essential.
With thanks to Turner’s Art Supplies for their generous sponsorship of SEEDLINGS, helping us provide creative opportunities for children and families at Haarlem Artspace.
