For this year’s Wirksworth Festival we are looking forward to opening up the studios, serving tea & coffee and being a Park & Ride and Ticket Stop. Studio holders and associates exhibiting this year include Maude Allen, Beth Bam, Jenny Bramley, Heather Duncan, Jill Gossling, Natalie Hallows, Ceri Hedderwick Turner, Jo Heron, Martin Hyde, Peter Knight, Karen Logan, Anna Mawby, Tracey Meek, Tricia Rice, & Laura Towle. The open studios will curated by our guest artist Hayleigh Longman.
Our Arts Council England supported Fieldwork film by studio holder Gavin Repton, will be showing throughout the festival and includes work from Fourthland, Tazelaar Stevenson, Michael Page and David Steans.
We will also be welcoming Derventio Housing Trust artists who have made mono print works in response to the Joseph Wight collection at Derby Museum. Haarlem Artspace Director Liv Penrose Punnett has worked on the Arts Council England supported project, Shine the Light with the Derventio Housing Trust’s Growing Lives project in Ilkeston.
This year Haarlem Artspace we also have a town centre venue at The Old Blacksmiths Shop where guest artist Chris Brooks will launch his new publication, The Brooks Press, uncovering the local history of his family’s printing business in Wirksworth through photographs.
We hope to see you there,
The Haarlem Team
