Haarlem Artspace

14 Oct, 2024

We are very happy to announce the reawakening of Haarlem Artspace, a gallery, residency and retreat in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. Here we hope to enable the research, development and presentation of work inspired by our unique location. Work that further examines themes of ritual, magic and folklore, the local history and pre-history, the distinctive geography of the region and environmental awareness.

We aim to continue the legacy left by Livvy Punnett, Cat Rogers, Geoff Litherland and Bev Shepherd and further the championing of rural contemporary art practice, presentation and theory.

We will be announcing our initial programme in the coming days but, in the spirit of widening our community and the continued plans to work collaboratively with artists, curators and spaces, we invite you to reach out with expressions of interest, proposals and introductions. Even if you’d just like to say hello, we look forward to hearing from you. We hope to encourage discussions that will help mould the future development of our programme and ethos.
