Haarlem Hits the High Street

15 Apr, 2023

Haarlem has always operated beneath a bit of a veil of mystery in Wirksworth, with the mill being tucked away at the edge of town where the buildings give way to the rolling landscapes of the Derbyshire Dales.

So when we were offered the chance of a pop-up shop on the high street, it was too good an offer to refuse. So now the townsfolk and visitors alike can see what goes on down the road - from weavers and jewellers to contemporary artists and painters; from ceramicists and film makers to writers and textile artists - they are all now happily visible on the high street within the old Feather Star at 15 St John Street.

Open from Wednesday to Saturday 10-4pm for the next four months at least, it’s a fantastic opportunity to test the concept for a full time high street presence, as well as for each of our 35 resident studio holders to showcase their work.
