Tricia is a collector inspired by the Cabinets of Curiosities of the past and the juxtaposition of objects that, on the surface, seem not quite to go together. She curates and photographs collections of objects that are linked by memory or place so that each collection has its own story, celebrating the assemblage and the collective beauty of ordinary things. Much of her work uses objects collected whilst beachcombing Britain’s coastline and she works with both natural material and found plastic. Each collection reveals something of the natural and human histories of the places explored. Her work encourages the viewer to imagine the journeys that have brought objects together in each place and question what might otherwise be regarded as transient, worthless, lost or discarded.
