Anna Paxton

Writer, Film Producer, Festival Director

I’m an ultra runner, writer and film producer specialising in outdoor and adventure. As well as being a freelance writer I’m co-director at Sheffield Adventure Film Festival, producer at Salt Street Productions, and an author for Vertebrate Publishing.

My first guidebook, Day Walks East Anglia is out now and I’m currently writing my second. I’ve written for the BMC’s Summit Magazine, Sidetracked and Red Bull Adventure among others. As a producer at Salt Street I made a six part viral mini-series for BBC Sport in 2019, produced the video content for The Outdoor City and Visit Britain’s international Adventure Breaks campaign in 2018 and 2021, and spent most of 2017 producing a six part urban sports series for Channel 4.

I’m a keen trail runner, completing the ultra distance in the Alps and USA as well as closer to home, including the V3k (Welsh 3000s). Born and bred in Sheffield, I’m embedded in the outdoor community, and with Stanage Edge just a short run from my doorstep I’m especially knowledgeable about the Peak District.
